For penangites esp hokkiens, the 8th day nite (eve) was the noisiest and busiest nite for them. This was because 9th day of CNY is to pray Jade Emperor which also known as Grandpa Heaven. Early in the morning (nearly forgot to bring my camera), i followed my grandma to wet market (chalasta market..hope that i didn't spell wrong) to see what they need to prepare for tonight praying.

Greetings.. ^.^ I’m a typical Malaysian. Born in Kuala Lumpur, but bred in Penang (for 15 years) - that's why i'm able to speak a few dialects. Then left to China for 3 years (that's when i picked up foreign languages).
