From this Penang trip.........

About this trip, i could said that i was happy but full of disappointment about the clealiness of Penang Island. I'm proud to be Penangite because of the attitude of Penangite (alwiz friendly..esp neighbour, ready to help each other) , food and scenery. However, i'm sad...and can say ashame is how the way people taking public properties such as telephone, bus, roads, sign boards and environment for granted.

Happiness:
1st: FOOD
The food in Penang..(as everyone know) is delicious. Everyone that visit Penang surely praise on the food such as laksa, cendol, ais kacang, char kuew teow and so on ( wow...... if i wanna list all... i think it'll took me quite sometime to finish it up). Penang...is..... wonderful.

2nd: Attitude towards each other (Co-operation)
Penang.... i alwiz love it because of friendliness. Everyone in penang very friendly. To be honest, i miss my neighbour in Penang. It's like...we're all from a BIG family. Whenever something happen to one family, the whole neighbourhood will come out and give a hand. Or sometime, all of us especially kids...will come out and play together. Not like in KL, i can say my neighbour..it's not friendly at all like wat had happen end of last year. When my house got robbed, my father asked for help. My gosh... the reply from my neighbour is..Oh..i heard. I have to go to WORK (What's THIS?!!?!?!). Really... CIty life kinda hard to get a friendly neighbour.

3rd: Relax..... FUn
Penang is alwiz the place i think i can really relax..can take my own sweet time to do anything. Yeah..not in a rush.

Disappointment:
1st: Dirty..
My ...oh My... , Penang really i agreed what had said on the newspaper. Penang really need to be clean up and UpGrADE. Everytime i took the public bus, Oh my.... very dirty... the chair, the wall of the bus. Then on road... people just throw rubbish everywhere. My oh my... the worst part is penang river...still haven't been clean up (eventhough there is an advertisement board said please keep penang river clean). My.... wat happen to the cleanliness of PEnang?!

2nd: Public transport
Man...eventhough the bus is full, the driver still stop at bus station to pick up more passenger. MY gosh... it's already packed. The attitude of the driver is not good at all. Hai.. i really wish Penang public transport system can be like Spore or HK public transport system. Spore and Hk public bus... when the bus is full (seat), the driver cannot pick up anymore passengers..(no standing up). YEah... i really hope it apply to Malaysia's public transport system.

3rd: Telephone, sign boards, and lift
Hai...... vandalism...vandalism. As you can see from my previous photo, my oh my........ really. Lift... My oh my..the button...all being destroy..can't even see the number. Telephone..as usual... totally destroy. My.... Penang... =(

One thing i noticed from this trip, Penang is full of those retiree (elderly). A lot of Kong Kong and PoPo...hardly see youngsters around my age....in the public bus or anywhere. In the bus, shoppin centre..., my..i see lots of elderly.

HOpefully, everyone can give a hand... to improve Penang Island.

My last day of CNY in Penang...

For penangites esp hokkiens, the 8th day nite (eve) was the noisiest and busiest nite for them. This was because 9th day of CNY is to pray Jade Emperor which also known as Grandpa Heaven. Early in the morning (nearly forgot to bring my camera), i followed my grandma to wet market (chalasta market..hope that i didn't spell wrong) to see what they need to prepare for tonight praying.

Episode 3: Visiting....

Well this year, my aunt who works in Saudi Arab came back for Chinese new year. YEah, it's been a long time i dind't meet her and her family. This chinese new year, i think as my age catching up, my mind tend to be more materialistic and realistic. WHen my dad told me that my aunt came back for Chinese new year, my mind was like hoping to see US dollar in my ang pao (somemore i'm her god daugther....heheheheheehe). Well well......maybe being too materialistic..., wat i saw only malaysian ringgit (well better than nutthin...kekekekee..).

After visiting my aunt, my dad alwiz like to bring my family visit my favourite places in penang. Really miss all those places. Still think penang is a great place to relax but the problem is i don't car. Eventhough there is public transportation, some bus didn't go certain places that i want to go (hai.... super ma fan). That's all for the 3rd day of CNY... Cheers MAte!!

Episode 2: 1st day of CNY

Every year of 1st day of CNY, we would be heading north to penang (my hometown). So we would be on the highway. We left home around 9:45am (if i still can remember). My area was a bit quiet because most of the chinese families had been gone back to their hometown before chinese new year's eve (hai...i alwiz miss the dinner reunion in penang). Anyway, All of us thought that the traffic would be good (maybe, our prediction was wrong). Guess wat..... the jam started on the way going sg. buloh -> rawang -> ipoh. Man, i just hate jams...!

We stopped at ipoh to visit my dad's ex BP colleague. Wah hahaa..... i love ipoh especially the food. Every year, our lunch going to be a vegetarian lunch. Very delicious...(food was prepared by aunty). Anyway, we left ipoh around 2pm and continued our journey. We reached penang (farlim..where my aunt's apartment located) around 5pm. Man, it was a tiring trip but hey.... the fun part was my cousins, uncles and aunties came down to help us unload stuff such as CNY cookies, cakes and our luggages. Thank you so much.. (my aunt stay at 11th floor). hehehee.... =)

1st day of CNY dishes:
1) Hainanese Chicken rice (It's a must for Hainanese....)
2) Hainanese Chicken (pak cham kai) along with hainanese chillies paste
3) special soup ( 豬肠汤)

Woo Hoo... Gong Xi Fa Cai.....!!

Time flies so fast..another new year had arrived. Rooster year.....!! Here i want to wish you all Happy Chinese New Year!! 恭喜发财。。万事如意。。国泰平安。。。身体健康!!

Anyway, today (chinese new year's eve) was the busiest day in my holiday. My parents got to wake up early in the morning to collect the barbeque pork (xiu yok) from the market. I heard from them that the marker was packed (yeah... preparing for Chinese new year's eve reunion dinner and also for praying.) Around 8:00am, my dad woke me up to help my mom preparing dishes, fruits and tea. Hehhee... not bad..at least i remember how to arrange the fruits. Today, it's the day when my mom busy prepare hainanese chicken rice, hainanese chicken, barbeque pork, barbeque fish, mixed vegetable, fu yong egg with vegetarian shark fin and soup. I can see how busy my mom was in the kitchen.

As for my dad, he arrange all those joss stick (in set) and joss paper. YEah.. i can say that chinese new year's eve was the busiest day. As for me and my bro, we two just received order from both of them especially my mom. Around 11:00am, all food and praying stuff ready.

Around 1:00pm, finally got to eat my mom's hainanese dishes. Yum yum....i can't wait to go back penang becuz every year on the 2nd day of chinese new year, my grandma will make poh pia (spring roll) which is the favourite dish or i can say popular dish.

Then around 5pm, i helped my dad to pack ang pao (red packet). hehehe... i kept on asked him why this person got this amount, why that person got that amont. A lot of why this and that? My..i dunno how my dad can stand. Thank god, he didn't scold me (hehehe...). The funniest part..(never miss..popular question every year) my dad will ask me which ang pao i want to pack my ang pao's money. hehehe..... then i'll choose those quite traditional or special design red packet.

Around 8pm, my uncle and his family came over to my place to have reunion dinner. It was great. My aunt..was like..: " wah ah ji (my mom).. u sure busy from mornin till now." Then i said :" Ma..thank god you got daughter like me ho.... helped you from mornin till now." My mom nodded her head (too busy to answer my question.... hehehe..). Anyway, the dinner was great. Finally, my family got to rest and wore new pajamas... (wee heee...) . Penang here i come....(i miss penang's food..)

The best day in my holiday...

Today finally got to meet my daddy Ishastha (just came back from Sri Lanka). Hehee...really miss him so much. Didn't change much..just gain a few kg. hehehee....my daddy. Ishastha, Meera, Helena and I had our lovely dinner at Ipoh White Coffee Bean and Restaurant Darulsalam (dunno whether the spelling correct or not? ) around 7pm.Both cafe at Subang, SS15. The dinner was great. It's been a long time that i didn't get to have such a nice, funny, long conversation and dinner. Daddy Ishastha, i really miss you so much.

In our dinner, we kept on teasing at Meera cuz both me and ishastha gain weight during this holiday but then MEera...hai, still the same. My gosh, the whole conversation was like...funny and crazy. Even helena and me laughed non stop. When we had our dinner at restaurant Darulsalam, my dad (biological) called me. Then i said Daddy...guess wat, Ishastha...my gosh..he replied "Yes?!" All of us started laughing at him. Ishastha, Ishastha....really (heehehehehe...). Then after that, we asked him how's his country? He told us about the effect after tsunami. Can't believe it, human being still haven't learn their lessons. (From one of the newspaper, one of the newspaper article: Gang raped...after tsunami. ) Gosh..really i think human being getting selfish, wicked, nasty, dangerous, and so on. I just don't understand why there are still some robbery, raped case, fake donation appeared?! People already suffered, but still got lots of immoral cases occured.

Anyway, our dinner........went well. It was the best i can say. To the three of them, i really really really...enjoy the dinner and conversation. God bless..and Nitey nite nite. Hugz!!
